At the International Indian Film Academy Awards in Toronto, hollywood a-lister, Hilary Swank, playing the quintessential glamorous movie actress in a stunning red Elie Saab backless gown with pretty updo, Judith Leiber clutch and jewels. You have been right on your glam game… well done Hil.. Wink.
Dutiful Disney darling Selena Gomez was in London for the launch of the Mouse House’s HD channel. Her skinny jeans and sparkly cap-sleeve top look adorable and are so appropriate for this event. Beside any event where a girl can wear glitter, its a must do.
Knee socks never looked so chic. Brigitte Bardot wore her loafers in a way that would be unexpectedly stylish today.

Don’t you just love hats? They’re one of the most functional accessories and come in countless styles. No matter what time of year, a hat can really add personality to your look. Not to mention, there was a study showing that people who wear hats tend to be seen as more outgoing and thus make friends easily. So go for the hat. Even if it’s just a topper to jeans and a tee, you’ll look more stylish.

Marilyn Manson’s ex flame and “True Blood” star, Evan Rachel Woods is making some fashion changes. We’ve seen her in chains, leather, even show girl inspired rhinestone nakedness. Now it looks like she’s reinvented herself in Hollywood style glam.
Evan Rachel Wood struts the red carpet in a Elie Saab Fall 2011 dress at the Mildred Pierce HBO miniseries premiere in New York City. Once again, I am seeing old Hollywood glamor take over the runways. I personally adore the style and feel that it’s time to embrace not only a more glamorous look but a classic and timeless silhouette.

White is clean, it’s fresh, and it’s a sexy summer stunner to style this season. Indeed, it seems that white is the new beige! It seems apropos that we start off our Spring/Summer 2011 fashion trend coverage with a theme so pure. As you know, many stars have been spotted in white dresses this spring, making it one of the biggest trends of the season. One brand, however, has stood out among the rest: Dolce & Gabbana. Yes, my dear Trufflers, their Spring 2011 collection is gorgeous. Most recently, model Chanel Iman wore a romantic lace sheath dress to the Met Gala. Before that, Anne Hathaway sported an embroidered ruffled mini at the Rio de Janeiro premiere of Rio, Blake Lively wore a flirty thigh dusting dress to CinemaCon 2011, Oscar-nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence wore a gorgeous lace maxi skirt to the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards, and Diane Kruger sported a shimmering embroidered mini at the Hollywood premiere of Unknown.
Ways to wear white? I love wearing different shades of white and off-white together, think about mixing tones and textures. A gauzy knit sweater, for example, contrasting against a crisp pair of cuffed shorts. As for accessories, you can go with anything you want – metallics look especial fresh, but if you want to add a spot of color, brights or pastels are a fabulous way to step outside your comfort zone and into a seasonal trend.
What do you think of Dolce & Gabbanas Spring/Summer 2011 Collection dresses?

Dolce Vita was created by two aspiring shoe designers, Nick Lucio and Van Lamprou, in 2000. Before Dolce Vita, Van worked as a Buyer and Nick worked as a salesperson for a major national retailer. They wanted to take their passion for footwear to another level, so they took all their profit sharing and sold everything they owned to enroll in a Milan shoe school. After two years of designing for other companies, they realized they wanted to start their own brand of high-quality women’s footwear, and thus, Dolce Vita was born.
A high fashion brand from the house of Prada, Miu Miu is taken from Miuccia Prada’s nickname. Two shades of rickrack form the vamp of a lofty espadrille sandal, while coordinating grosgrain straps wrap the ankle. Don’t you just love these for everything? I can’t image not getting tons of wearable fun in these not to high, but just high enough sandals.

From glamorous updos to simple ponytails, hairstyles at the Golden Globes were sleek and on-trend. Makeup was pretty and natural with the emphasis on eyes: dense lashes and liquid liner. The hair for Spring is lustrous and high shine with lots of silky tresses both in casual and classic styles. Here are our top 10 looks from the night.
January Jones always looks so beautiful. She is definitely one to watch for the latest looks. Her make-up for the Golden Globes was spot on for Spring 2011. Her lustrous locks in a stylish bob screamed Hollywood glamor with Chanels strong lip, long lashes and understated eye. Her brows were perfectly polished and worn thicker than last year. Very Hollywood!
A fresh face is really hot right now as Spring promises to be full of brilliant hues. Molly Stern wore a faux bob with sexy whimsical tendrils casually yet purposefully framing her face. Not the usual red carpet but truly a modern and youthful twist. I like the old Hollywood theme that I saw this year. Those messy looks from last year with dark dirty roots seem to be giving way to a brighter more evenly colored look. Even though this year there seem to be a string of Kardashian like darker hued tresses, the common theme is even color. Notice that chunky streaks seem to be out?
I love Mila Kunis with her wow lashes. Of coarse wearing fake lashes isn’t very practical for every day, they are great when not over done for evening. The look is balanced with a thin Audrey Hepburn inspired line on her upper lid that extends out just past her lashes. Be careful not to make this line to thick and if you don’t have a steady hand try pressing a little powder into a wet thin liner brush and carefully applying your color. You will have a bit more control if you don’t have practice with the alternative. Note, when using powder, be sure to place a square of soft paper under your eye to avoid the raccoon like shadow that will certainly drop from your brush.
In a sea of pale skin brunettes, it’s refreshing to see a bronzed platinum blond. Emma Stone’s perfectly even locks were the perfect frame to her high cheek bones and big blue eyes. To add height and definition to your updo, be sure to use volumizer when your hair is wet just at the roots and then finger your style into place so that you can add lift as you secure the hair. Be careful not to pull the sides to tight. Get Emmas flawless skin by airbrushing your makeup and lightly dusting with translucent powder to set. Let your makeup dry before adding the powder and keep your touch light so you won’t look caked. To highlight high cheekbones, smile when you apply your color and dab from the front of the roundest part of your cheek up to your ear. Use the color sparingly and layer for the right effect. Sometimes I use a highlighter just above my cheek under the eyes for extra definition. It brightens the complexion and flash bulbs kick off the highlight enlightening that area in photo’s.
I’ll be posting more flawless makeup looks and advise on hos to get perfect looking skin soon. Be sure to subscribe to Today’s Truffles so you won’t miss the post.
